Preview: Italy v Paraguay

The defending champion doesn't look good in their warm-up games. But I think they have found their way through the 4-2-3-1 formation. This would not be an easy game for them as Paraguay is a fairly good team with strong legs around the pitch and a good height up front through the experienced Santa Cruz. But Italian should up for the challenge with a solid defence and slightly clinical Gilardino up front. It is interesting to see the lack of creativity of Italian midfield could make up for this by their possession in midfield. Marchiso who plays as play-maker and Montolivo who stand in for the injured Pirlo would be essential component there. The Italian should edge this tight encounter.

Man to watch (Paraguay) - Lucas Barrios
The forward who score 19 goals from 33 matches in Bundesliga this season looks to be a perfect partner for Santa Cruz to bullied the aging Italian defence. Their performance will be crucial to determine the Paraguay's performance.

Man to watch (Italy) - Claudio Marchisio
The young man who play his first world cup would be give an important role to organize the Italian attacking play. There is no much creativity in Italian midfield, and his passing would be important to break the Paraguay's defence.

Prediction: Italy to win 2-1
