Preview: Ivory Coast v Portugal

This is I think the match of the day. In this group of death, this game is extremely important for both sides as they will battle each other out. Without Nani, the Portuguese will be heavily relied on Ronaldo to get some great crossing and shots. The big talking point before the match will be whether Ivory Coast star Didier Drogba would start. Their coach said that the decision would be left to Drogba himself, but certainly he would not want to miss such a clash. So Drogba would play, at least for 60 minutes. The Ivorian are very much alike with most of African team, strong and quick when going forward, but may do some schoolboy error at the back. Liedson is never a world class striker, so it remains interesting to see whether he could capitalize on the mediocre Ivorian defence though it lead by the famous Manchester City player Kolo Toure. A draw would be acceptable for 2 teams which neither could afford to lose. But anything can happen in this tie.

Player to watch (Ivory Coast) - Yaya Toure
The Barcelona defensive midfield has to hold Deco and Meireles well enough and interrupt their every single passing. When Portugal has their flair, they could be very dangerous in the final third. Yaya has to win the midfield with Zokora if Ivorian is going to secure a good result here.

Player to watch (Portugal) - Christiano Ronaldo
The world most expensive player, and probably the best player as well together with Messi, would be heavily relied by Portugal to get their goals. Needless to say, if he stars, his team stand good chance to win.

Prediction: A 2-2 draw for both teams
